Niedner Recognized For its Support to the Visually Impaired

On June 23, 2009, Niedner's General Manager, Charles Lacroix, was invited by Oklahoma League for the Blind to attend a ceremony held by the NAEPB to receive a plaque recognizing Niedner as OLB's supplier for the year.


The National Industries for the Blind (NIB) and The National Association for the Employment of People who are Blind (NAEPB) recently named Electronic Security Products’ Niedner team as the recipient of their 2009 Supplier Recognition Award.

The NIB and NAEPB are dedicated to helping the blind and visually impaired achieve economic independence. Working through a network of almost 90 partner agencies across the US, they provide employment to more than 5,600 people and rehabilitative services to more than 130,000.

Canadian based Niedner is a 114 year old manufacturer of fire hoses for municipal, industrial, and forestry use. A proud supplier and partner to both the organizations for more than a decade, Niedner provides vital components for fire hose that NIB & NAEPB agencies manufacture and sell to the US federal government. Niedner also makes financial donations to both organizations and helps with their fund raising activities.

Last summer, the terrible wildfires sweeping through California and other parts of the US created an incredible, urgent demand for fire hoses. As a major supplier of hoses to the US government and several of the affected states, the NIB and NAEPB were challenged to immediately and substantially increase their production. The organizations turned to Niedner and asked for help. Rising to the occasion, the Niedner team ramped up production and worked extra shifts to get the job done.

Because of the outstanding support from Niedner, the NIB and NAEPB were able to meet all their delivery commitments and get the fire hoses into the hands of the heroic men and women fighting the devastating blazes. This dedication to customer service, coupled with their steadfast support of the NIB and NAEPB throughout the years, earned Niedner the Supplier Recognition Award for 2009.
